Saint Paul United Methodist Church was founded in 1960 as a missional church for the east side of Spartanburg. Missional work

is at our very heart. We have several outreach mission programs working throughout the year.

A Way Home is a program where we are able to host families in transition to permanent housing. Formerly known as SPIHN,

a network of local churches Spartanburg agencies come together to help our neighbors in need. Backpack Buddies is a program that we participate in by providing food and school supplies for children in need. Our primary focus is working with Drayton Mill Elementary School and McCrackin Middle School. The Bethlehem Center serves the southside of Spartanburg helping with childcare, educational support, housing support and food support. Caring Casseroles ministry is a program within Saint Paul UMC to provide meals for our shut-ins due to illness, recouperating from medical procedures or homebound. Caring With Crockpots is a ministry where Saint Paul UMC provides crockpots, meal planning and recipes to families in transition where they have limited or no access to traditional stoves and ovens. This allows families to be able to prepare nutritional meals for their family members. Epworth is a Methodist based fostering program in the state of South Carolina. Originally, Epworth provided on campus housing for children in distress and now, Epworth works with fostering agencies to place children in loving, Christian environments during times of need. Our Gift Tree program provides clothing and toys to homeless children during the Christmas holiday season. Our Helping Hands program provides hot meals for the homeless of Spartanburg. Most of our homeless population in Spartanburg is located in the downtown area and we’ve parterned with First Presbyterian in supporting this outreach to the community. Hope Center For Children is an agency we work with in providing children a safe haven in times of distress. We help provide basic needs of the children including personal hygiene products along with contributions to help these children in difficult and stressful times they are facing in their life. Mobile Meals is a meal delivery program to shut ins located in the Spartanburg area. Many times, this is the only meal that the person will have for the day. Rebuilding Together Spartanburg is a program where we send members out to perform desperately needed home repairs for those who are unable to afford home repairs.
