Saint Paul United Methodist Church was founded in 1960 as a missional church for the east side of Spartanburg. Community
outreach ministries is at the very heart here at Saint Paul as we are called into Sharing the Love of God and Caring for the Community
and works best when we partner with other organizations in the community allowing us identify, address and serve more needs.

Epworth is a Methodist based fostering program in the state of South Carolina. Originally, Epworth provided on campus housing
for children in distress and now, Epworth works with fostering agencies to place children in loving, Christian environments
during times of need.
That is why we partner with the Faith Initiative To End Child Poverty. The goal of this body
is to work with other congregations, faith communities, and non-profit partners to reduce
child poverty by fostering connections, sharing resources, and advocating for systemic change.
A Place To Call Home works hand in hand with the Faith Initiative To End Child Poverty
and other congregations in the faith communities using our resources to ensure that every
resident has a safe, stable, and secure place to live, while transforming how the county
addresses housing instability.
Another connecting point that we share is A Way Home, providing short-term, emergency
shelter and comprehensive, wraparound support to families experiencing homelessness, with
the ultimate objective of helping them transition to permanent, stable housing.
Our partnership brings together the most resources available to serve those most in need. We also have a number of additional
outreach ministries that help our community.
Our Gift Tree program provides clothing and toys to homeless children during the Christmas holiday season.
Our Helping Hands program provides hot meals for the homeless of Spartanburg. Most of our homeless population in
Spartanburg is located in the downtown area and we’ve parterned with First Presbyterian in supporting this outreach to the
community.
Hope Center For Children is an agency we work with in providing children a safe haven in times of distress. We help provide
basic needs of the children including personal hygiene products along with contributions to help these children in difficult and
stressful times they are facing in their life.
Mobile Meals is a meal delivery program to shut ins located in the Spartanburg area. Many times, this is the only meal that the
person will have for the day.
Rebuilding Together Spartanburg is a program where we send members out to perform desperately needed home repairs
for those who are unable to afford home repairs.
